There are three demi-muids and half a barrique of Michel Colin's 2007 Puligny-Montrachet Les Demoiselles constituting a bumper crop for this tiny site (now with three owners, including son Bruno and the Domaine Amiot). A faint aura of white truffle joins chalk dust, sea breeze, iris, and diverse citrus in the nose. Luscious and bright on the palate, with a subtly creamy texture, this finishes with a memorable, dynamic mingling lime, grapefruit, tangerine and white peach with chalk, salt, toasted nuts, and savory suggestions of lobster shell reduction and browned butter. This many-faceted gem should be worth following for the better part of a decade. |
