Collin’s NV (2008) Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Les Roises is a new wine from a parcel that
he has regained control over after a period of selling the grapes. Here
the deep, clay-rich soils yield a Chardonnay of extraordinary depth, breadth
and volume. Juicy apricots, dried pears, honey, spices, almonds, orange,
dried flowers and savory herbs all take shape as this full-bodied, voluptuous
Champagne shows off its inimitable personality. Despite its richness, the
2008 boasts stunning depth and fabulous overall balance. Power and elegance
have rarely been this compelling. What a gorgeous wine! Dosage was just
0.85 grams per liter. This bottle was disgorged on March 5, 2012. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. |
