Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres has an accomplished bouquet with subtle notes of lemon thyme, linden and chalk dust that unfurls nicely in the glass. The palate is fresh and taut on the entry, quite pointed acidity, vibrant and nervous with a mineral-rich finish that bodes well for the future. This is a very well crafted Meursault Genevrieres, though it is not at the same quality level as Dominique's Charmes in 2012. |
