 当店がほぼ毎年仕入れるボルドーの一つが、このモンブスケです。 果実の集中感とマイルドで余韻たっぷりで、ゴージャスな雰囲気を持った逸品です。 お値段も他のシャトーと比べると、とても安定してリーズナブルです。
パーカー氏の評価は2度出ており、最初が91-93p 2014年4月の評価が90pと上々の評価です。 一応2014年から飲み頃に入ると記載があります。

 ここ数年毎年購入しているボルドーの一つで、私のお気に入りのシャトーでもあります。 エキスの集中感と、滑らかさ、そしてリッチな香り、旨味溢れる味わいはサービス精神満載って感じです。 円高の時に輸入されたのでしょうか、比較的お値打ちに仕上がっています。

This exuberant, flamboyant, modern-styled St.-Emilion from Gerard and Chantal Perse is plump, succulent and irresistible in 2009. Yields were a low 28 hectoliters per hectare, and the blend was a classic combination of 70% Merlot and the rest primarily Cabernet Franc and a tiny dollop of Cabernet Sauvignon. The alcohol of 14.2% is typical for a Monbousquet. Copious notes of toasty oak, vanillin, jammy black and red fruits intermixed with notions of wood fire barbecue, roasted espresso and chocolate jump from the glass of this fleshy, exotic, impressively endowed, full-bodied, silky smooth, opulent 2009. It should drink well for 15+ years.

2008年のボルドーは、絶対に狙い目ですよ! なぜかと言えば、高評価なのに価格が安いのです。 2009年のボルドーは、恐ろしい高騰を見せていますので手が出ません。 かなりお勧めです

A blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2006 possesses a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of espresso roast, damp earth, new oak, black cherries, and black currants. Medium to full-bodied with exceptional purity, surprising intensity, good texture, and sweet tannin in the finish, this unfiltered cuvee should drink well for 12-15 years.

The home estate of Chantal and Gerard Perse, the 2001 Monbousquet (a 7,500-case blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon bottled unfined and unfiltered) is a big, flamboyant, sexy offering with a dense ruby/purple color as well as a big, sweet nose of licorice, dried herbs, smoke, black currants, and blackberries. Beautifully textured, medium to full-bodied, opulent, and forward, this is a juicy, succulent, seductive claret to drink over the next 10-12 years.

The dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 Monbousquet exhibits a port-like bouquet of super-ripe black cherry and black currant fruit intermixed with scents of coffee, tobacco, and vanilla. Tipping the scales at a whopping 14% alcohol (extremely high for Bordeaux), this wine, which spends 18 months in 100% new oak and is bottled unfined and unfiltered, is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It was cropped at an amazingly low 30 hectoliters per hectare. It possesses an amazing texture, a mid-palate that you could get lost in, and a sensational 40-45 second finish. The exotic aromas, incredible texture, and abundant fruit are reminiscent of Pomerol's renowned micro-cuvee, Le Pin. The 1999 is even better from bottle than it was from cask. It is a remarkable effort for the vintage, Anticipated maturity: 2005-2017.

I extend my congratulations and accolades to the relatively young new proprietor of Monbousquet, Gerard Perse. With his acquisition of Pavie, Pavie-Decesse, and La Clusiere, he has quickly become the most powerful player in St.-Emilion. This is good news for consumers since Perse is obsessed with quality. For example, he has reduced yields to under 30 hectoliters per hectare, and is doing everything to ensure a natural expression of his vineyards' terroirs. At a blind tasting in New York City, Monbousquet, inserted as one of the sleeper picks in a tasting of the top 1995s, was selected as the finest wine by a majority of the more than 125 people in attendance! I have heard grumblings from some of St.-Emilion's old timers about Perse's aggressive acquisitions, but no one can criticize the man's commitment to quality. The 1996 Monbousquet is an outstanding effort. The wine is slightly tannic, but it exhibits an exotic nose of kirsch liqueur, cassis, roasted herbs, espresso, and
mocha.
It possesses excellent texture, impressive depth and richness, and sweet toasty oak. The saturated dark ruby/purple color suggests a dense wine. The finish is both long and well-delineated, with moderate tannin. This beautifully-etched Monbousquet will take several years to come around. Anticipated maturity: 2002-2017.

Although similar to the 1996, the 1995's fruit is more accessible, and while the tannin is elevated, it is buffered by lower acidity, as well as more glycerin and fat. The 1995 offers an opaque purple color, and a glorious nose of new oak, spice, and abundant black fruits. This full-bodied, super-extracted, multi-layered wine must be tasted to be believed - especially for readers who remember Monbousquet as the soft, innocuous, commercially-styled St.-Emilion it was for many decades. The 1995 has more accessibility than its blockbuster younger sibling, but it still requires 4-5 years of cellaring. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2022.

More Burgundian than Bordeaux-like, Gerard Perse’s 2005 white Monbousquet exhibits rich, medium to full-bodied flavors of smoky oak, mango, white peaches, honeysuckle, and nectarine. While delicious, its aging potential is suspect, and I suggest consuming it over the next 4-5 years
